Today's variety, the delightful native Italian red Montepulciano is growing in popularity here in Australia, with 138 producer, up from around 50 at the turn of the century.

It comes in two styles- big and brooding or bright & juicy.

The Matriarch & Rogue 2022 Leasingham Clare Valley 'JIM' Montepulciano is the latter - Vibrant purple in colour, with an appealing bouquet of ripe cherries and plums. Divine, juicy, quite rich palate with lashings of flavour, a hint of savouriness and a crisp lingering finish. AN ABSOLUTE BELTER!!
