HUNTINGTON ESTATE SPECIAL RESERVE GRENACHE 2023 ($54 / Mudgee, NSW)
This is an Award Winning (Royal Sydney Wine Show) well-crafted, mid-bodied Grenache from the Huntington Estate team.
It displays swirling, multi-layered aromas and flavours of ripe plums, blackberries, dry herbs and leather.
Wafts of both French Oak derived pencil shavings and American Oak vanillin carry the glycerol glide (14.8%) to a long, palate-coating flavoursome finish.
Definitely a good match to protein dishes, it will reward cellaring.
We enjoyed ours slightly chilled, with air fried duck Maryland.
