This quirky blend of Italian varieties from Ben Crossing and the Angullong team is a tribute to family matriarch Hatty (Harriet) Crossing.
It is a well-crafted & unique melange of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Montepulciano
The initial aromas and flavours unfurl leather, rose petals and almond topnotes. The Sagrantino component contributes high acidity and tannic backbone.
It is a textural, multilayered wine which continues to morph and palate-tease on breathing.
The declared 14.5% Alc is well-cloaked by the generous fruit component, enticing to yet another sip.
We enjoyed ours with a beef casserole.
