This Italian varietal which is gaining traction in the Mudgee region, is broodingly dark purple on pouring. The initial nose and palate channel cherries and plum aromas and flavours.
There is also a rustic, underlying grab of mushroom straw and drying tannins on the mid-palate.
The warming glycerol component (14.5% Alc) allows for a muscular, leathery and grippy palate glide of the varietal attributes.
