BLACKSTONE PADDOCK 2021 BAROSSA SHIRAZ

BLACKSTONE PADDOCK BAROSSA SHIRAZ 2021 ($20, Barossa Valley, SA, ALDI)

Over the years I have raved about a number of sensational wines from ALDI Australia, which are not only of good quality, often Gold Medal or Trophy winners, but also at amazingly low prices.

This week’s wine is such a bargain basement ripper of a wine.

The Blackstone Paddock range of wines from Aldi represent their flagship wines, with the Cabernet (from Margaret River) having won the Top red wine Trophy at the Royal Adelaide wine show in recent times.

Today’s wine is the Aldi Blackstone Paddock 2021 Barossa Shiraz.

This sensational wine has a great depth of vivid purple colour, a lively bouquet of plums and red berries with a hint of creamy chocolate and a smidge of dried herbs. The palate is big, rich, well rounded, juicy with a splash of vanillin oak and silky-smooth tannins on the long lingering finish.

OMG this is AWESOME and all for a mere $19.99. Yes not $40 or $50 a bottle – just $19.99.

If you live in an enlightened state where supermarkets can sell wine (no like pre-historic South Australia) I strongly urge you to go down to your nearest licenced Aldi and grab some, it is bloody brilliant.
