ATZE'S CORNER WINES “GIANT” 2021 DURIF

ATZE'S CORNER WINES “GIANT” 2021 DURIF ($35 / Barossa Valley, SA)

This week I am raving about #Durif yet again. Regular readers will know that I am a massive Durif fan- have been, ever since tasting the 1985 Morris Wines Durif when I first started working for Orlando in the mid-late 1980s.

In those days Durif was the purview of Rutherglen with basically nobody else growing it. Since then it has spread so that these days there are some sensational Durif for a variety of wine regions.

Today’s wine is one-such, it comes from the Barossa Valley and it is exquisite.

Today’s wine is the superb Atze's Corner Wines “Giant” 2021 Barossa Valley Durif. This wine is sooo deeply coloured that it is almost black. It has abig, rich bouquet loaded with black berries, a hint of pepper and a splash of subtle vanillin oak. The palate is massively rich and deep with lashings of dense exciting flavours leading to elegant tannins on the silky-smooth, long-lasting finish.

If you like big, delicious reds then this one is-

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!

Check it out, along with the other superb Atze’s Corner wines- especially the “Mob” Montepulciano at www.atzes.com you won’t be disappointed!!

Well until next week- have a great week, always choose Australian wine and when possible enjoy emerging varieties.
