This inaugural Sangiovese 2024 by the Renzaglia family ticks the varietal boxes of a mid-weight, credible New World expression of the variety.
It expresses bright cherry both in hue and initial aromas and palate.
It shows a balanced mixture of fine tannins, grippy acid and almond / tomato leaf ripe mid-palate.
It is a food-friendly, warming young Sangiovese and a very encouraging first release by third generation viticulturist Sam Renzaglia.
We matched ours with a dish of air-fried duck a l'orange.
